The Corvette Club Of Windsor

It all began in February 1974, when a small ad appeared in the personal column of The Windsor Star...

The ad invited those interested in forming a Corvette club to meet at the CKLW building on Ouellette Avenue in March. During this meeting, we discussed the formation of the club, elected officers, and drafted bylaws. By the end of 1974, approximately 30 members had joined.

Our first club event was a trip to Greenfield Village. Other activities that year included participating in the Leamington Centennial Parade, Corvette drag races at Sparta, and a beach party, to name just a few.

In April 1974, we held our first charity event—a cancer fundraiser—raising $365. Since then, the Corvette Club has evolved in many ways, but one thing remains constant: our commitment to giving back to the community where we enjoy driving our cars.

Over the decades, the club has grown significantly, attracting members of all ages who are passionate about preserving the Corvette’s legacy. The Corvette Club Of Windsor has become a staple of the Windsor car enthusiast scene, hosting and attending events that showcase these beloved vehicles and their rich history.

Key Milestones:

1. Founding Members: Among the 30 original members, five remain active today, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to the club. One founding member, Rick Farrow, joined after purchasing a bright yellow 1973 Corvette, which ignited his lifelong love for the car. Over 50 years, he has owned numerous Corvettes and continues to be a key figure in the CCOW as well as a club sponsor.

2. Annual Car Show: Since its inception, the CCOW has been renowned for its annual car show held every June. The event brings together Corvette enthusiasts from across Canada and the United States of America to display their cars, connect with other enthusiasts, and celebrate the brand’s history.

3. Car Cruises and Charity Work: The club organizes regular car cruises, offering members opportunities to enjoy driving their vehicles while exploring scenic routes. The Club is also dedicated to giving back to the community through various charitable initiatives and supporting causes in the Windsor-Essex region.

4. 50th Anniversary (2024): In 2024, the Corvette Club of Windsor celebrated its 50th anniversary, which reflects a testament to the club’s vibrant history and their continued passion for the Corvette. This milestone was marked by events and reflections on the friendships, memories, and traditions formed over five decades. The show has grown significantly since its start in 2000. In 2024, approximately 200 cars from all over Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and North Carolina, and as far away as Florida, and Moncton, New Brunswick, joined us in Windsor for our 50th Anniversary Car Show

Today, the Corvette Club of Windsor is more than just a car club—it’s a growing community of 125 members where people come together to share their enthusiasm, build lasting relationships, share knowledge and uphold the legacy of one of North America’s most beloved sports cars.
